Let The River Flow, November Days of Glory

Let The River Flow (Day 2) – Rev. Sola Kolade

Christian Intoxication

John 7:37-39 Jesus talked about rivers of living waters flowing out of you. These waters are to your benefit, and it begins to flow when you become born again. Everywhere the river gets to, there will be light.

In Acts 2:13 When the spirit descended on the crowd like tongues of fire, some people dismissed the people speaking in tongues and said they were drunk. This suggests that some other things must have happened but were not recorded. Probably, some of the filled believers were staggering or dancing. Peter arose under the influence and spoke to the people and 3000 people gave their lives to Christ that day (Acts 2:14). This was the same Peter who a few weeks before had denied Christ vehemently. The rivers had begun to flow because the Spirit had been released! Hallelujah! A christian is supposed to live under the influence of the Holy Spirit. Three things change under the influence of the the Spirit: your speech, your mood and your vision.

1) Ephesians 5:18-19 Inspired Utterances/Speech
When someone is drunk, it shows in their speech, e.g they become more talkative, or louder than usually etc. When one is filled with the Holy spirit, it affects their speaking. (Luke 1:41) Elizabeth was pregnant and Mary became pregnant and sought her out. Elizabeth was inspired to speak and prophesy. Allow your mouth to do its job. The primary purpose of the rivers is for lives to come to God’s kingdom. When you are baptized in the Holy Ghost there will be an outflowing from you to others. So keep speaking as you are inspired by the Holy Spirit. Always trust yourself to speak under the influence of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 10:20. Yield yourself to the influence of the Holy Spirit, and you will say things that would change destinies. John 12:26. Let the rivers flow. Begin to speak out what you should. Speak to your situation, to your country…

2) Ephesians 5:18, Ecclesiastes 10:19 – Mood
When people are drunk, they are high and in a good mood. They feel a sense of well-being. The same is true of being under the influence of the Holy Spirit, you become full of joy. The joy of the Lord is your strength. When you feel high under the anointing of the Holy Ghost, everything is perfectly fine. You could be in the middle of terrible circumstances, yet there will be a joy inside of you that you can’t hide and eventually things will turn around. Paul and Silas had been locked up, beaten and uncomfortable but they prayed and sang psalms and the Holy Spirit manifested by breaking every chain and yet no one tried to escape! Let there be music in your heart, a spring in your steps at all time and see what the Lord will do.

3) Proverbs 23:29-Vision/What you see
Your eyes will see strange things when you are under the influence of alcohol. It is the same under the influence of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 3:16. The heavens opened and he saw. You see clearly, particularly about God’s purpose for your life when you are under the influence of the Holy Spirit. You see how you fit into God’s scheme of things. You will even see ahead, giving you a special advantage because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.

BLESSINGS!!!
