Wow! What an awesome time it was in God’s Presence! The truth of who God is was unveiled to us and we experienced light about his nature. Everything we need to know about God is right there in the canon of Scriptures. The bible is God’s complimentary card – a personal testimonial of Himself (John 5:39; 2Corinthians 3:18). The things we see in the Bible that God did and said still hold true today because He is the same yesterday, today and forever; He is the I AM THAT I AM – meaning that what He was then, He is now, and He will always be. He hasn’t diminished in ability, neither has He exhausted His power (Exodus 3:14; Hebrews 13:8; Philippians 3:21). He has always maintained His unwavering position (Genesis 18:4; Jeremiah 32:25; Malachi 3:6). He has the capacity to do again everything He has done in times past.
So, these are some things you and I need to know about God:
1. God is a GIVER. You and I are beneficiaries of God’s generosity (1Corinthians 4:7). Our God is a giving God (James 1:6,17; Psalm 84:11; Psalm 85:12; Romans 8:32; John 3:16). Our God, by nature, is a giving God and that’s why the Bible says we should ask him for our daily bread (Matthew 6:11).
2. God is a LIFTER (Psalm 2:1-3; James 1:9; Ephesians 4:8-9). The law of gravity says that everything that goes up must come down but the law of grace says anything that goes down has the potential and capacity to come up. By the force of grace, you will experience a lifting! Nothing will be able to hold you back in this month of March; you are going to rise above every limitation and expectation in this season. There is a lifting coming for you in this season (Psalm 75:6). God lifted David out of obscurity into royalty. Everything that Samuel did was acting out what had already happened in the heavens. The same lifting happened to Solomon; God took the kingdom from Adonijah and gave it to the rightful owner because it was his from the Lord (1Kings 1;2:15).There are three ways to get up; one can jump up, one can climb up and one can be lifted up. The best of the three is to be lifted. This is God’s word to you, “Not by power, nor by might, but by My Spirit, you will leap over that wall!”
3. God is a MAKER. The story of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15 establishes this side of God’s nature. The father in this story is a type of God the Father. In the first conversation between the son and the father concerning inheritance in verse 12, he asked for what belonged to him. Everyone who has an inheritance must know how to lay hold of it. This commonwealth of inheritance is for ALL (Colossians 1:12, Acts 20:32, Ephesians 2:12; Romans 10:12). He wasn’t wrong to ask what belonged to him, but he went on his way and lost his inheritance and in verse 19, he said to his father on returning “make me.” Psalm 95:6, Genesis 1:26 assert the making nature of God. There are certain things that you are praying for in the present state you are in that you can’t handle (Galatians 4:1-2). Isaiah 9:8 sheds more light on this: the prophecies that were given to Jacob wouldn’t come to pass as long as he still remained Jacob, Israel is the beneficiary of the prophecy. The Israel in Jacob had to come out before the word could see fruition. God is at work in you; He is working on you so you can stand and so that you can last (Psalm 66:12; Psalm 102:16; Job 23:10). Have the confidence that God that has started the good work in you will perfect it. He is giving you what it takes to stand strong. He is working on your inside so you can be established forever (1Peter 5:10; Psalm 50:7; Isaiah 28:16; Isaiah 50:7).
4. God is also a BLESSER. The book of Genesis tells us how God spoke everything into existence and we saw in verse 22 that God BLESSED everything that He had made. He released the blessing on the work of His hands because the power of optimal functionality is in THE BLESSING. After the water holocaust, God released the blessing on Noah and on his sons (Genesis 9) because THE BLESSING is the needed capital on which any biblically successful life must be built. Jabez asked God for THE BLESSING not for a change of name (1Chronicles 4:10). When you are blessed of the Lord, what defines you is THE BLESSING, and not your given name. May your life be defined by THE BLESSING. When Jacob encountered the Lord, the Lord BLESSED him there (Genesis 32:29) and God opened a new chapter as He gave him the blessing.
Hear this: Only God has the right to write the last chapter of your life and if God hasn’t written it, every other person’s ink is irrelevant. Luke 12:42; there are some things you are due for; everything that you are due for in this season of gaining grounds become yours now.
